1. Fundraising Progress

  • Reached $2,000 goal!
  • Donations still welcome (and needed) for continuation of upcoming plans and events.
  • Thank you to all that donated!

2. Selmac Inlet Beautification and Safety Project

  • Mural Plans:
    • Wall has been cleaned and prepped for painting. Thanks to Charlie for creating the blank canvas.
    • Looking to incorporate nature and San Jose history.
      • Will add to the scenery and "see what sticks." If it doesn't come out well, no harm in covering and trying again.
    • Paint donations welcomed!
    • Community painting day TBD.
  • Successful Spring Event!
    • Brought raised planter beds to the inlet to block off traffic and create a safe space.
    • Rainbow crosswalk — TBD.

3. Upcoming Events

  • 4th of July Celebration @ Thousand Oaks
    • Decorate your bikes 7/3 at the Cabana Club.
  • National Night Out — Tuesday, 8/4 at Selmac Inlet
    • Face painting, shaved ice, SJPD, SJFD and more!
    • Street captain sign-ups.

4. Speed Concerns on Heppner

  • D9 did a 48-hour study on March 4th–5th, 2026.
    • Determined volumes and speeds were below the threshold to qualify for traffic calming measures.
  • Speed always has been an issue; will have to handle "in-house."
    • Ideas that can help: mock camera, moving/alternating signs, keep reporting to police, have another study done in future.

5. Treasurer's Report

  • See meeting PowerPoint for details.

6. Beautify SJ Yearly Grant

  • Cycle 7 (2025) Grant:
    • Received $5,000 and used $4,827.
  • Cycle 8 (2026) Grant:
    • Approved for max amount of $5,000.
      • Big accomplishment — other applications not granted due to budget restrictions.
    • Need to file paperwork for events in Selmac and make it "official."
    • To be used for similar events: National Night Out, Halloween Party, Winter Event and Ice Cream Social at the Cabana Club.

7. Bylaws Review

  • Will be looking at specific sections of the bylaws pertaining to communication and attendance of meetings to incorporate new technologies.
    • Changes to be presented by flier/Facebook/email communications and voted on at the next General Meeting in September.
  • Review homeowners v. renters and communication guidelines.

8. Open Forum

  • PCC still accepting PRO members.
  • Increasing General Meeting attendance — offer Pinehurst dollars at events to exchange at meetings.
  • Look to establish co-ops like we've had in the past: babysitting co-op, cheese co-op, etc.
  • 7/3 (all day) Soccer Festival at Almaden Lake Park, provided by the city.
  • D9 runoff between Genny Altwer and Gordon Chester in November.
